We bring seven Canadian international aid agencies together in times of disaster. With a combined presence in 150 countries, we are uniquely placed to respond quickly to large-scale disasters or smaller, under-reported disasters.
How much do members receive
At the start of each year, our members know what percentage of funds raised from an appeal they will receive. If and when a disaster strikes, only member organizations with operational capacity already in place in or near a disaster zone will receive funds. A minimum of 85% of appeal revenue is spent on the emergency itself and helping survivors rebuild their lives.
How do we ensure quality
The members of the Humanitarian Coalition are committed to upholding Codes of Conduct and International Standards as foundations for quality programming. These standards strengthen performance while also providing accountability to donors, peers, and those to whom they bring assistance.
How do we choose our members
Our members are trusted humanitarian aid organizations. They have the ability to respond with immediate lifesaving assistance and humanitarian aid when and where it is needed the most. Membership is open to Canadian humanitarian organizations who meet specific quality standards and requirements.
