20 million people in parts of Africa and Yemen are on the brink of starvation. That represents more than everyone in Canada’s 13 capital cities, and Ottawa, combined.
Cities across the country will show their support for the Humanitarian Coalition’s Stop Famine Together campaign by lighting up their monuments in red.
The Humanitarian Coalition, made up of 7 of Canada’s leading international aid agencies, is asking Canadians to help bring life-saving aid to women, children and men affected by this crisis.
By donating before June 30, 2017, Canadians can take advantage of the Government of Canada’s matching fund. For every dollar donated to registered Canadian charities, the Government of Canada will make an equal contribution to its Famine Relief Fund.
