In March 2017, heavy rains caused massive flooding across Peru.

There were many hurricanes and cyclones 2017, but Cyclone Enawo, which pummeled the whole east coast of Madagascar.

Often arriving without clean water, food, and basic supplies, many individuals, especially children, are in need of desperate assistance.

It may not seem like it but Romzima is one of the lucky refugees in Bangladesh. Unlike an estimated 70% of new arrivals, she has a shelter.

Noura and her family are part of the more than 600,000 Rohingya people who have crossed to neighbouring Bangladesh in just three months.

More than 600,000 Rohingya people have fled Myanmar since August 25, 2017. Of those, nearly half don’t have access to safe drinking water.

As more refugees arrive in Bangladesh, the need for medical services and emergency supplies is constantly increasing.

As of October 23, 2017, an estimated 603,000 Rohingya have crossed the border into Bangladesh from Myanmar.

On a daily basis, refugees struggle with limited or no access to basic sanitation, safe drinking water, toilets and food.

After walking for as many as 14 days with little food and water, hunger and malnutrition are often a pressing problem that many new arrivals face.

More than 600,000 people have fled Myanmar since August 25, 2017; 80 per cent of those are women and children.

Cleaning the washroom probably sits low on the favourite chores list of most people.
