Following the passage of Cyclone Pam over the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu on March 14-15, the members of the Humanitarian Coalition have ramped up assessments and aid delivery to assist survivors. With gusts of over 300 km/h, Cyclone Pam is confirmed to have killed 11 people and left many thousands homeless. It destroyed crops and fishing fleets, severely impacting access to food and livelihoods for the country’s inhabitants. Principal needs are known to be for food, clean water, shelter, and health services.
