The Humanitarian Coalition’s 2025 year in review

In 2025, massive cuts to global humanitarian funding left millions of people without access to vital resources and services.

As unmet humanitarian needs grow, our work is more important than ever.

This year, the Humanitarian Coalition responded to three major humanitarian emergencies. We continued our response in Lebanon following our 2024 appeal, and we contributed more than $1.7 million in new funds to the crises in Gaza and Sudan. Our generous donors made this funding possible.

In Lebanon, our members reached more than 250,000 people with essentials like food, shelter, safe water, healthcare and dignity kits.

We also responded to 16 smaller emergencies in nine countries through the Canadian Humanitarian Assistance Fund (CHAF). With support from our donors and the Government of Canada, we provided more than $5.7 million to reach 183,144 people with vital humanitarian assistance.

These projects provided life-saving assistance in the aftermath of these crises:

  • earthquakes in Afghanistan, Myanmar and the Philippines
  • tropical storms in Haiti, Mozambique, the Philippines and Sri Lanka
  • floods in Pakistan, Vietnam and Yemen

We can't predict what 2026 will bring. But we are confident that when a crisis strikes, Canadians will open their hearts and lend their support.

With our members poised to respond in 160 countries, the Humanitarian Coalition is ready to provide life-saving support where it's needed most.

We're so grateful for the trust that our donors place in us and the generosity that Canadians show to our global neighbours. Thank you. Together, we save more lives.

Do you want to help us provide even more life-saving aid next year?
