With support from Canadians, our members provided critical assistance to more than 23,000 people
During the recent escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, Canadians donated to the Middle East Emergency Fund to rush life-saving assistance to families in Lebanon, Syria and the wider region affected by the war. The Humanitarian Coalition, which brings together 12 of Canada's leading aid organizations, launched a national fundraising appeal that ran from March 16 to April 1, 2026.

The Humanitarian Coalition's Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Tiffany Baggetta as the new Executive Director of the Humanitarian Coalition following a thorough executive search process.
Today, the Humanitarian Coalition is announcing an additional $1.5 million in humanitarian aid to respond to the ongoing crises in Sudan, Gaza and the West Bank. Despite claims by Israeli authorities that there is no limit on humanitarian aid entering Gaza, most major international NGOs have been unable to deliver a single truck of lifesaving supplies since 2 March.
On July 29, 2025, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) issued an alert warning that the worst-case scenario of Famine is unfolding in the Gaza Strip and access to food and other essential items and services has plummeted to unprecedented levels.
Today as we mark World Hunger Day, the Humanitarian Coalition is deeply concerned about the escalation of the humanitarian situation in Sudan which has reached unprecedented levels for hunger and displacement—making it the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. Each day, more than half of people living in Sudan face crisis or catastrophic levels of food insecurity.
